At Ozzete.

Ozzete

A mist hangs over the forest edge,
Drifting down it touches the sea's surging waves.
Gusts of wind scatters the ocean, sending up
Reinforcements of white spume for the battle with the sun.

Melting the murky mist
The sun grows steam from the river bank,
Swirling among towering spruce,
Reflected in the river mirror.
Broken images swept to the sea.

Rock cliffs meet the sea,
Now showered with a golden mist.
A mystical woman,
Hair swirling with the sand,
Smelling of cedar
Appears with the advancing sun.

My brother Mark Robison, writes and periodically works as a fisheries observer aboard fishing vessels in the Bering Sea. Ozette and Cape Alava have been a favorite wilderness area for both of us. One of his latest adventure was kayaking in Fitzhugh Sound and up the Kueye River, in British Columbia, Canada.
